Which raises another question: these values were already calculated before being saved, why are they being recalculated on open? I took pains to avoid volatile functions. Then select Format > Cells on the Menu bar to display the Format Cells dialog, select the Boolean Value option in the Category area of the Numbers tab, and click the OK button. For example, enter 1 in a cell that has the default general number format. It’s pretty clear to me that, on open, there is a recalculation cycle that just craps out part way through. Calc uses the numbers 0 (FALSE) and 1 (TRUE) to represent logical values. D) Recalculate can’t resolve a circular reference, so that wouldn’t work if it was real (iterative calculation is off). I wasted 2 days of restless searches for reasons why it still produce Err:522. It always at least adds double the dice-value, but oftentimes a value that seems to have no connection to the show dice value. Error 522 - according to help, is Circular reference Formula refers directly or indirectly to itself and the Iterations option is not set under Tools - Options - Calc - Calculate. If it was truly circular, they’d all have it. But when I press F9, the calculation is not correct. C) This sheet is a template, one of 7 identical sheet in the workbook, and only the last one (on the tab bar, but is also the most recently created) has this issue. B) I used Trace Precendent and it doesn’t indicate any circular references, only the existing linear ones. I saw recently somewhere on the internet a suggestion that turning off multi-threaded calculation resolves this issue. 522 Circular reference Formula refers directly or indirectly to itself and the Iterations option is not selected under Tools > Options > Calc > Calculate. (FYI: On Ubuntu 18.04 the desktop appears to be intercepting F9 so only the menubar UI works.) Keeping track of when and where your OpenOffice Error 522 error occurs is a critical piece of information in troubleshooting the problem. Happens when I open my spreadsheet, Recalculate Hard (Shift+Ctrl+F9) resolves the issue. OpenOffice OpenOffice Error 522 issues occur with installation, while OpenOffice Error 522-related software runs, during shutdown or startup, or less-likely during operating system updates. I’m seeing the same issue on Calc 7.3.3.2.
